Most of these pieces depict something from the natural world: flowers, trees, sea and land critters. I like drawing nature. It's soothing because of how detailed, intricate, and complex it appears to the human eye. With each shadow of a leaf, outline of a hair or whisker, I have to focus intensely in capturing their small, delicate features. Maybe because when I'm not drawing, my attention veers everywhere all at once. With a pen and sketchpad in front of me, I know what to do. I know my mission.
